Major Thrifting Score & A Design Dilemma

I've been finding tons of stuff at GW lately.  Mostly small things that I'll upcycle and sell.  Nothing major.  Except for what I found last week.

These babies were $6 each!!

I practically threw them in the cart as soon as I saw the price.  Then I promptly went back over to the sweater rack and put the $20 worth of sweaters I'd planned on buying, back.  I just don't get GW sometimes.  I mean, they're charging over $5 for a sweater, yet I can get these for a buck more each.  Hey, I'm not complaining though!  I love these tables!  Check out those legs!  Oh my..

But like they say, every silver lining has a cloud.  That's what they say right?  No?  Well, you know what I mean.  I have a problem.  It's actually a good problem to have, I guess.  See, I want these table to live with ME.  I don't want to fix them up and then sell them off.  The problem with me keeping them is that they'd have to be painted either black or cream.  I may get away with red, but I really just want to be adventurous with these.  I'm really looking at these photos for inspiration:

I love, love , love that polka-dot fabric.  I do have a wingback-ish chair that I found on the side of the road that I could reupholster in that fabric or a combo of that and the other one.  If I did that, it would look so awesome with those tables painted aqua with maybe a little red peeking through.

Like I said before, though, none of that fits with my living room.  I'm pretty sure I could change some of the accessories and take the red chair out of my studio and make the whole thing work since we do have neutral walls.  I feel like I love the vision of the chair and tables in my head so much that I would MAKE it work.  Ya know?

What do you think?

  5. I know how you feel about wanting to be adventerous but it not matching. I want to paint everything a bold bright color but my house would end up looking like a big box of crayons. I have slowly adding in some color after making everything neutral.
