My Stashbuster Fall Wreath

I think anyone who knits (me!), crochets, sews (me!) or quilts(me!) knows what I mean by stashbusting.  If you partake of any of these hobbies, you have some type of stash.  You go into a fabric store or my weakness, a yarn store, and it's like a kid in a candy store.  All of the patterns, colors and various fibers.  You have no project in mind and you really shouldn't buy it, but it's just begging to come home with you.  And so you buy it.  And so it sits.  And sits.  And sits.  It has become... part of your stash.

I've really been trying to bust my stash lately and when I saw these, I knew I could make the teeniest dent in my stash with something like this.

Even though I was tired and had the first inkling of what turned out to be a terrible cold, I got to task, gathering various yarns and making plans for what was to become this.

Don't you just love it?  I sure do!!  All of the materials for this, except for the felt & embroidery thread used on the leaves, I already had at home.  My total cost for this project was less than $2.50.  Awesome!!

Because nobody reads a really long blog post, and because I'm a tease sweet as pie, I'm going to stretch the tutorial into three posts.  One for the wreath form, one for the felted acorns and then one for the leaves and putting it all together.

Hope you'll come back by tomorrow for the first part of the tutorial!

This post is Part 1 of 4 of my Fiber Fall Wreath Series.
