My Fall Setting

I have typically not been one to decorate for Fall.  Up until the last couple of years, I just jumped right into Halloween decorations.  Since I live in a subdivision now, I didn't want to freak my neighbors out by throwing up all of my Halloween stuff in Sept.  So, I started buying a few Fall decorations here and there.  It's still been a sad affair, but I think I'm doing a little better this year.  I bought a new raffita pumpkin to replace the ones that were destroyed last year.  Then I scored a bag of pinecones from a thrift store for a $1.  I bought a bunch of cattails from Hobby Lobby for a couple of bucks.  At Old Time Pottery, I got a few fake pumpkins, a few glass ones and a really cool squash that looks like a pumpkin.  I added this to stuff I already had and set it all up in my dining room.  Here's what it looks like.

Here are the photo shelves above the table.

Here it is all together.

That "Good Apples" sign is a tin sign that I bought a few months ago.  All I did was stick it in a frame to make it pop a little.  That wreath, is the sad wreath I made a few years ago.  The width between our house door and our storm door is too narrow for anything like it, so it's been smooshed quite a bit.  I decided to bring it in this year and make it part of my display.  There's a jar of multi-colored peppers that I used to have in the kitchen.  I'd moved them up to storage a few months ago.  I thought their colors would look nice with this display so out they came.  Same thing with the candle, it's been in storage for awile too.

The fake acorns were a score from Target a few years ago and I only use them around this time of year.

The pinecones, I chose to display them in that kind of bell jar thingy.

This squash/gourd thing is my favorite out of everything.  I found it at Old Time Pottery last week.  They don't even have these displayed with the Fall decor.  They were back with the floral forms and floral wire and that kind of thing.  All I can tell you about it is that it's from Kenya,  the lighter part of it is where it has been carved and that it's still full of seeds.  It rattles when you shake it.  But does it not look like a cool pumpkin???

Well, that's all I've got.  I'm feeling better so hopefully I'll get the Fall project I started on earlier, finished today.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and is downing the Pumpkin Spice Lattes (those are homemade!) like nobody's business.
