A Fancy-Schmancy Clock

Last year, when were on vacation, I visited the Goodwill in downtown Savannah, GA.  They really didn't have a very big housewares section, but I was able to score this little gem for $2.  For whatever reason, I neglected to take a before photo (don't you hate it when you do that?).  When I bought it, it had that gold-ish brassy finish that most cheap ornate clocks and frames have.  You know the one. While I thought the finish was hideous, I knew it had potential.

It sat in my studio until recently, looking all tacky with it's brassy self.  I finally gave it a couple of coats of Rustoleum Aqua spray paint that I had left over from this project and this project.  Then I used something that I ran across on Proper Prim, Rub-N-Buff.  I just put a little on with my finger here and there, and then used a t-shirt rag to buff it.  To me it looks a little like a kinda reverse patina and I love the way it turned out.

Anyone else ever used Rub-N-Buff on something?  Did you like the results?
