Wine Rack Thingy Turned Ribbon Organizer

I got this at GW last week for a couple bucks.  I'm not really sure what you'd call it.  It's got a Napa Valley logo embossed on one end.  I guess it's used to transport the wine.  I'm not a wine drinker (I'm a beer kinda gal) so I really don't know.  I took a before photo, but did so without having the memory card in the camera.  DOH!  I found this photo on ebay.

I pretty much knew right away what I was going to do with it.  For a couple of years now, I'd been trying to figure out how I wanted to store my ribbon.  I knew this would be perfect for the job.

I just painted it white and distressed.  It looks right at home in my studio.

As you can see, ribbon is kinda sparse around here these days since Han has taken to wearing it in her hair.  I'm just glad she's still young enough to think that's cool.  She starts middle school next year.  Urg...

  4. I have one of these but it doesn't have the dividers. Maybe I can use dowels to hold the ribbon in place. Nice idea!

  8. Great minds think alike! I have that exact same box. It was a CD holder. A few months ago I put all our CD's in a binder and tossed the box in the craft room to reinvent later. When I finally got around to trying to find a good use for it I did exactly what you did! It makes a great ribbon holder.
