OK, now I need your opinions on something. I bought these a couple of weeks ago, from a local thrift shop.
They appear to be some sort of finial. I think they were probably used on a fence or something like that, outdoors. These things are big. I think they weight about 5lbs each and they're about 8.5" tall and the ball on top is about 18" around. I'm planning to sell them in my shop, but I'm torn on whether or not I should paint them. I'm thinking I could sell them in pairs as bookends or separately as decorative items or even doorstops.
What do you guys think? Should I paint them or leave them alone? If I leave them alone, should I clean them up at least? Should I sell them in sets or should I sell them individually?
I think you should paint them the door stop idea is great I also like the book ends if you sell in pairs. Maybe do one set of book ends and the others as door stops or just as a decorative piece for a mantel... love seeing your stuff Denise Kellett
ReplyDeletehmmm... i think they would look fantastic painted, but i do love them like this, too- they would look great on some white bookshelves. i love the bookend idea. they would also make great furniture legs to make a stool or add to the bottom of a dresser to give it some bun feet.
ReplyDeleteps- got so busy commenting on the wood pieces, that i forgot to say thanks for your kind words! :)
ReplyDeletePaint one and see if it moves. List them both painted and not. Also, in the photos show their different uses, as bookends AND as doorstops.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I agree with Yanet. Paint one and offer both options. Love them!
ReplyDeleteHow about selling them all separate and if people want 2, they can buy 2. Paint 4 and leave 2 plain. (Like Yanet and Danielle said) =)
ReplyDeleteI think they'd be cute little decorative items on a shelf. Definetely paint! And definetely sell in sets (of 3?).
