Monogrammed Plaques

I made 3 of these as gifts and one for me to keep.  I got the wooden plaque, the wooden letter, the plate stand and the scrapbook paper @ Hobby Lobby (they have the BEST selection of paper IMO) for under $10.  With monogrammed stuff being so popular right now, this makes a perfect custom gift.

I painted the plaques and the letters black and then distressed them.  Next, I decoupaged the base paper onto the plaque (if you don't know how to do this, see my tutorial for the Spring Door Plaque).  After that dried, I decoupaged the second sheet of paper on top.  While the Mod-Podge was still wet, I placed the letter on that and then sat something heavy on top for about an hour.  This helps in the case that the letter is slightly warped (it probably is, a little). Then I went over the whole piece with two coats of polyurethane with a satin finish.

And that's it!
