I got this at a little shop around the corner from my house. I always find so many goodies when I go in there and since it's not quiet as cheap as Good Will or any other thrift stores around, I don't go often.
There really wasn't anything wrong with it to begin with, but since I'm peddling the Shabby Chic bit, it needed some work.
The after:
*** I'm showing my afters first from now on because the first photo is what shows up in the thumbnails in reader and on the "you might like" thingy.
The before:
You can't tell until you pick it up, but it's p-l-a-s-t-i-c. It's some vintage piece from the 60's. I've been finding tons of that stuff lately, mostly in a hideous gold color, and it all looks so cool after it gets painted. With this piece, I hand primed it, hand painted it white, took some sandpaper to it and then used an antiquing glaze. LOVE IT!!
It's for sale in my Etsy shop.
So it's like 2:30 AM here and I'm supposed to get up at 7:00 to get Han up for school. Dontcha hate insomnia? I'll be back sometime later this morning with the Foodie Friday post. I actually have a recipe to feature this week.
Oh that reminds me, I thrifted this cool alarm clock last month for two buckaroos. Yeah, cool... except for when it's waking the dead at 7AM!

ReplyDeleteLove the make over. I think they look much better with their new coat of paint. The black paint just do them justice.
