It seems I've got a thing for pedestals, lately. My newest fascination are pedestal birdhouses. So pretty and they just scream, "SPRING!"
I'm here to show you guys how to make your own. These will be even easier to do than the pedestal bowls because you can buy the birdhouses from any craft store. No searching the thrift shops for them, like we're all having to do with the bowls.
First, attatch your houses to your candlesticks.
Second, stain all of the natural wood. I use Minwax stain in Dark Walnut. I just brush it on with a sponge brush and leave it to dry. Usually overnight or a day.
Then, just paint and distress.
ALL DONE!

HI Kristi!
ReplyDeleteI just linked here from a blogger who found me on OWOH. I LOVE your blog. We are junk sisters. I am known as the Art Junk Gypsy, or the Dumpster Diva of So Cal. I have a garage, barn and tack room full of things I am "gonna" make into sellable stuff one day. You have really inspired me. I love all your ideas and plan to post a link to your blog on mine. I will be back often. Check out my blog for some DIY craft ideas for kids, as well at trashformations, where I upcycle stuff I find in the trash... So great to "meet" you.
OOPS... my daughter was using my computer and had herself logged into google. I am karan not Kayleigh. http://karansimoni.blogspot.com
